On Saturday, August 26th, 2023 in the City of Simi Valley, we will be holding our 2nd Annual 13 Souls Memorial Run/walk/bike, 1k, 5k, 10k & Half Marathon event. This run is dedicated to the 11 Marines, 1 Navy Corpsman and 1 Army Soldier who lost their lives 2 years ago to the day, at the Abbey Gate at Hamid Karzi Airport, Kabul, Afghanistan during the evacuation efforts, from a suicide bomber.

The 13 Souls Memorial Run/Walk/Bike event is a memorial to those 13 lost and a fundraiser to help children both directly and indirectly associated with our 13. Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to establish a college fund for Levi McCollum, daughter of Lance Corporal Rylee McCollum, who was born 18 days after her father Rylee was killed at Abbey Gate. Funds will also go to several scholarship and memorial funds established by the families of those 13 we lost on August 26th, 2021.
