 40th Annual
Simi Valley 4th of July
Festival & Fireworks Extravaganza

 Fireworks

Wow, we did it!

Have you ever seen over 30,000 people gathered together in Simi Valley with goose bumps?

Our 40th Annual 4th of July Festival and Fireworks Extravaganza was a great success. Our Fireworks show this year was the best ever. If you missed it, you missed out on something great.

The Rotary Club of Simi Valley has organized, planned and provided manpower for this event since 1970.  In addition to an outstanding fireworks show, great bands and local entertainment, we were able to arrange a flyover by a C-17 Globemaster from March Air Force Base.  If you were in Simi Valley at 6:50 on July 4th, you were probably awed by the presence of this gigantic aircraft flying over the City of Simi Valley.

On July 1 we were told to have our soloist begin singing "The Star Spangled Banner" at precisely 6:49 PM. Fireworks went off at 'the rocket's red glare, bombs bursting in air' and just like clockwork, a shadow was cast over the park as this huge C-17 arrived just above the trees as our soloist sang the last note of our National Anthem. It was an awesome experience. I am proud to be a member of the club that provides this wonderful service to our community every year.

Our community enjoys one of the Best Fireworks shows in the country. Our club could not do this without the help of our sponsors. The City of Simi Valley and the Rancho Simi Recreation and Parks District provided both financial support and services to make this event happen. Our corporate sponsors provided additional funding so we could enjoy a great show.  Any income from sponsors that exceeds our costs goes back into our community to make our community a better place for all of us to live.

Our members are local business professionals who are dedicated to service in our community and throughout the world. Our motto is 'Service Above Self'. If you are interested in serving your community please contact us. If your business would like to be a part of giving over 30,000 people goose bumps, please contact us and we can help you become a corporate sponsor of this outstanding event.

It is my pleasure to serve as President of our Rotary club this year. I would love to meet you to discuss how you can become involved.
